Symbolism

Beach   

The beach symbolises peace. It is a place where Callum and Sephy can forget the worries of the world, where no body can interfere and the hatred and racism that exists between the noughts and Crosses.

Manor House

The manor house symbolises where Sephy is not allowed to see Callum, this is a symbol of racism because Sephy's father would not allow Callum in to his house.

Jail

The Jail symbolises injustice and death. It symbolises injustice because Callum and Ryan McGregor were falsely accused and sent there. It symbolises death because Callum was executed there and Ryan was killed trying to escape.

Courthouse

The courthouse symbolises prejudice and injustice. It is a place where crosses are let off and noughts are given harsh sentences for things they sometimes didn't do.
